This series arose from the necessity to investigate the distorting quality of water as an element that causes changes to light and colour.  It uses the figure of the bather, and the movement they cause both within the water and upon its surface, to explore this altering quality of the liquid element, as well as its texture and expressivity.  The paintings were created during different periods, but all focusing on the expressive representation of water as the central theme of the composition.
